At Henie Onstad Summer Camp children will be given a unique experience related to visual art and outdoor activities. Four times this summer we invite children for a week long summer camp within art and outdoor life. Here children get to see art, express themselves creatively and be physically active.
Henie Onstad Summer Camp is for children between the age of 8 and 14 (children who turn 8 years old in 2018 may also participate) and will take place in week 26, 27, 32 and 33. It is held by Henie Onstad Kunstsenter in collaboration with Sommer som Vinter.
Half the day consists of instruction and exploration of different artistic techniques inspired by ongoing exhibitions at the art center. An active summer-camp-week ends with a vernissage at Henie Onstad which will showcase the children’s work and where family and friends are invited.
Henie Onstad gives the participating children an opportunity to work with art materials of great quality. The work shop materials are gathered from the assortment of Panduro Hobby.
Some of the outdoor activities at the Summer Camp consist of:
Canoe safari and Indian paddling
Arrow and bow
Life support and first aid
Bathing and water activities
Sing and dance
Body exercises and lavvu activities
General information will be given all parents on the first day of the camp at 9am. The workshop program of the week will also be presented. One parent per child must be present at this arrangement.
To highlight the completion of a creative week, all parents, siblings, grandparents and friends are invited for a vernissage at 3-4pm on Friday.
