–To make art that is resonant with contemporary life, one needs to use the tools of contemporary life.
-Who are you?
Monday, Wednesday and Friday I am an artist. Tuesdays and Thursdays I am a photographer.
-What do you do?
Mostly I answer emails. Occasionally I make photographs, usually the kind that Duchamp would have derisively called retinal.
-Why photography?
For the same reason that pop artists used pop imagery and AbEx painters bought paint at hardware stores. To make art that is resonant with contemporary life, one needs to use the tools of contemporary life.
