-I build images to be photographed rather than being a photographer, most of the time.
-Who are you?
I am Ingrid Eggen
-What do you do?
I work with photography, video and sculpture.
I have worked extensively with the human body; its function and dysfunctions in relation to communication, representation, control and awareness.
Through the body's irrational and unconscious aspects, I try to create new compositions and structures in the body; thereby establishing new connections and a potential for new actions. New bodies.
-Why photography?
I like the camera´s ability to function as some kind of prolonging of my bodily experience and viewpoint on the world. I build images to be photographed rather than being a photographer, most of the time. One of the advantages with photography for me is its ability to hide disturbing elements.
