Susanna
Baudelaire & Piano
Concert
Susanna has composed a new work based upon the ten poems by Charles Baudelaire (1821-67) from the masterpiece "Les Fleurs du mal", translated into English by Anthony Mortimer. She performs them in their original form at the piano.
We meet a grim set of characters, such as witches, heathens, wolves, deviates, bullies, ghosts, vampires and bad spirits...
Susanna has invited Stina Moltu, who has composed music for cassette especially for the performance at Henie Onstad. The commissioned work contains lights, video, costumes and scenography. Susanna offers a transcendent journey - beauty with a hint of the odd.
“…it lingers on like a vivid dream.”
"While Susanna's earlier covers albums exuded a steely hauteur, her latest is more remarkable for its beguiling softness as well as sometimes a woozy feel that benefits the contents absinthe-soaked origins”
"Baudelaire & Piano is a disarming release that cuts through the hubbub and anxiety of these turbulent times; every moment of this is worthy of your attention.”
